TEN MORE DAYS.

Let the pre-RotK celebrations BEGIN! I have scheduled it all out in my uber-geekness and I invite everybody else to join me in it.

Today I will be revisiting all aspects of Post-FotR fandom that I can remember including all of the awesome, funny fics I can remember reading. This, of course, includes the Breadboxes, Green Eggs and Lembas, and who could ever forget the VSD's? I need to remind myself of how I loved the fandom... before I read the books.

COUGH.

I'm wondering when it's going to stop looking like September so it can feel a lot more like Christmas.

Merfle. *kills evil Southern California weather and its whole "Whoo, I'm going to be cold today! No, warm! NO, HOT! BACK TO THE NINETIES! Now down to the sixties. I am EVIL. And it will NEVER snow, and even in your beloved SB Mountains the snow will last for a day and a half and it's stupid snow anyway! BECAUSE I AM EVIL!"-ness*

I'm testing out a theory now.

HEY SUSIE. You know in Veracruz when I have "buh BUM-BUM-BUM! buh BUM-BUM-BUM? buh BUM-BUM-BUM BUM BU-.du duuuu. buuuh buum buum BUM bum BUM?" Jorge STILL has problems with that section and marching season is fucking OVER.

Dork of the year award goes TO...

Anyway, Catcher is so cool. I love how J.D. Salinger can make you totally agree with Holden one minute and the next minute you're questioning Holden's sanity with a rousing round of "wtf?!!!! >;0!!!!11!!!" I'm finding not many people are enjoying the book, but I love it so much. The style of writing is so unique. And, you know, sex, cussing, and such things that make the rest of my class read it.

Oh hey, a new Tait song has come on... fun. I want their new CD now.

I found out today that my mom, dad and I all share the same favorite Christmas song. ("O Holy Night") I feel special now, like I'm the best from both of my parents. But not.

On Friday we're going to decorate our Sunday School teacher's house to decorate for Christmas and then have some chili dogs (Ew, hot dogs, all of the meats put together... but so strangely alluring... mmmm... hotdogs... *is Homer now*), Mexican Hot Chocolate and Mexican Sweet Bread. Mmmgkhgfkshfkdlsa. One of the good things about living in Southern California? Every other home is its own Mexican restaurant. Then on Saturday it's not only Carrie's b-day but ALSO it is the YMCA parade. I think I should invest in some gloves. And the song we're playing, "Jazzle Bells", is the epitome of cheesy. Alas! I shall live on. And the Saturday after this Saturday is Lauren's birthday, which means I should get some money soon for presentses. And then on the eighteenth is the Christmas concert...

...

I should invest in a calendar.

*flails!*

And now, a few things to amuse you.

I have mastered "Fantasia for Christmas", "Fum Fum Fum", "Jazzle Bells", and "San G Alma Mater" in one night. Go me!

Also, being the insane wench that I am, I have a new screenname on AIM. It is toaster envy. Why? Because.

I have almost caught up to Silv' in number of AIM screennames! Go me! But it will take a LONG time before I reach Maddie's level.

Love you both. *snort*

And I officially have no ride home from Jazz Band.

I also seriously need to practice state capitals and Canadian Provinces and THEIR capitals for that test on Friday... I suck at states and their capitals. And I still have to do my Math homework... and find my Section 3 notes for Science... and memorize "Jazzle Bells" on trombone... and re-read the chapters for Catcher...

I got my hair all freshly trimmed yesterday, so it's shorter by a half-inch at least and all spik-eh in the back, thank goodness. It's cuter shorter. I think I'll keep it that way.

School sucks after a four-day weekend. Merfle.

We had the best Thanksgiving one can have without furniture and nice plates and things like that. Go us! It was very family-like, very laid-back, very fun.

I'm so thankful for the family I have. I think I realized it mostly today. We're all very close now, more than before, really. We're all comfortable with each other and can laugh and joke around thusly. We can just hang out on the one car bench seat we took out of our van to use as a couch and be close and have fun. I can just lay back and use my brother's head as a footstool when all the dishes and such are put away and not feel odd. And best of all, we can all agree that we're so happy we didn't invite Sarah to join us. It would have been too tense and just not fun at all.

We've found a very, VERY potential home. The applications can start being turned in on the seventh, so we're going to apply and hopefully we'll get out of this empty house into a new, improved empty house that we can fill up. I'm so excited at the thought... we'd only be renting the house so I couldn't do much to my room, but the idea of having the desk back and having a place I would look forward to going to after school is just amazing. I'm ready to have a room back now.

Another thing I was thinking about today that made me thankful was that for the first time in my life I have a crush on a guy and I'm not mad at myself about it. I think for once I can just sit back and smile to myself, tell myself I like a guy and be happy about it. It's a nice feeling. I always felt like I needed to hide it from EVERYbody before, but now it's just like... "Yeah, I like a guy, and it's fun." I feel very... happy about it, too

Also, this is one of my new favorite songs of all time. It's so pretty and peppy and fun.

Feeling inspired, new NOsuperman should come this weekend.

So squee.

What to say? What to say?

We researched more on Banned Books for a report we'll have to do on them. I'm still amazed that Where's Waldo? and Light In The Attic (SHEL! <333) were banned. And while I can see why Heather Has Two Mommies and Daddy's Roommate were banned, I'll bet the parents who wanted it banned didn't even read them.

BUT HOW DARE SMALL CHILDREN LEARN ABOUT HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGES?! THE HORROR!

And I mean, really, Are You There God? It's Me Margaret? Because, you know, all hell will break loose if young girls read about other girls wishing to menstruate. I didn't die. I just envied her greatly. (The best part of that book is by far "We must! We must! We must improve our bust!" I laughed for three days straight.)

We're about to read Catcher In The Rye, which is supposedly T3H BOOK OF ALL TIME, so I'm happily awaiting it. I have good faith in Mrs. Lossner and her tastes in books. After all, Lord of the Flies was pretty awesome.

*tears up* PIGGY...! *SOB*

... Anyway.

We got the Jazz Band music today and our first rehearsal is Thursday. Since we're doing a Christmas concert, the music is "Winter Wonderland" and "Santa Clause is Comin' To Town." (*dies of shame*) But the trombone part is not easy, j0! I don't even know the position after Second-Octave F! And it goes up to Third-Octave-B! *dies* My lips will be so tight no air will come out.

Oy.

Also, it's fun running with Lauren to the Band Room to hang out every day. By far the best part, next to band itself, of course. Because Corky is there, and this other chick, Olivia, who I speak to every once in awhile, gave me this picture of Nightcrawler's name she drew with THE TAIL HGJDHAKGHDSAKHFDKAHF:DS;;;; on it. I'm sure I'll treasure it forever.

CORKY RIPPED UP MY SMUT...! >:o!!!111!!!!!

Anyway.

Oh yes, and Corky calls me "FiFi" now. Because it means "to grow or enlarge." (tromboner!) <333 Corky.

WAAANT. BASSOOOOOON. NNNNNG.

Funniest Quote of the Day
Cameron: (While speaking to Susie about her new clarinet, which is special. but I'm not sure if it's a b-flat or e-flat clarinet. But it's SPECIAL, because it's SUSIE.) 'Wow, that thing is small.' You had better get used to saying that, now that you're dating Eric.

HJDsHFLDSHAKFDSKALHFKDLAHFkldhj love Cameron so much. He's so great.

And later when we were walking out to the parking lot, Eric kept on vacillating between saying "OH NO! NOT MY GUMDROP BUTTONS!" and "FREAK!" every three seconds, so I asked him if he was one of those toys where you pressed buttons and they said things. He laughed and went "Haha... yeeeah."

...

I need to find me a remote. Preferably with a "Mute" button.

Pearl of Wisdom from the Low Brass

I'm almost happy to be escaping them.

See Lizz.

See Lizz update.

Update, Lizz, update!

UPDATE WITH WHAT, YOU SAY?

Band stuff, of course.

Mr. Morton asked all those interested in jazz band to stay for a few moments. I, naturally, stayed, and he spoke to the group we had about Jazz Band. He said we'd be doing it Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:30 starting next Thursday and he'd be giving us music on Tuesday. ROCK. I just need to figure out a ride... cough. Anyway, it looks like we have five of our trumpets (at least), four altos, one alto willing to do a barri sax, one tenor (Mr. Morton will be trying to make this TWO by recruiting an alto...), the three BONERS, lots o' percussionists, and Johnny is going to play bass trombone or something like that. (yee!) Richard is going to play SOMEthing but Mr. Morton didn't say what. They just exchanged this wink... thing. Mr. Morton is happy to have a strong low sound. Oh yes, go us.

*CANNOT. WAIT.*

And hey! Eric wasn't such a dumbass today! Good for him! He was rather peppy and friendly, too. Yaaay! He's already being a better person! (Thank you, Susie!) That didn't mean he didn't leave himself wide open for jokes, of course.
(Eric to Adam in attempt to get Adam to stare at his ass and make Adam look gay: Hey Adam! Is there something... ON MY ASS?
Me thinking but not saying: Yeah, some white stuff is leaking out, you might want to check that.)
(Eric to Ed in an attempt to get Ed to stare at his crotch and make him look gay: Hey Ed, is there something... ON MY PENIS?

Waaaaaaay too many things I could have said.)
(Eric: hahahaahah, it feels like there's shit in the back of my throat
Me thinking: You like giving rimjobs...?)

SO YEAH.

</random>

And then we had sectionals today, which was very, very productive. We worked a lot on "Open Up Wide" and got very far with it, so YAY. And then we spent at least five to seven minutes discussing Eric and Susie. They all took bets on how long the relationship would last. And then laughed and said Susie would whip him into shape - literally. (*whip crack motion* Fwu-PSHHHH)

And I think - THINK - Johnny said he had to move to Barstow next year,. HKJVHGDKHFKDSAHFKDL. WHAT?! *dies* That would be so horrible I could not even imagine it. I think I would die. Like, really, just die.

(My Sam-look-a-like...! Gone! *sob*)

So I will do everything in my power to make sure that doesn't come true.

Many laughs after sectionals as well as Amber and I waited for her mom. The guys took apart one of those orange plastic cones and we were laughing at the phallic-ness.

We need help.

Tomorrow is our first pep rally. I'm excited...! o.o; And have to go practice the stands music.

Erm, yes.

TROMBOON. [13 Nov 2003|06:15am]
[ mood | YES! ]

So I was just... randomly... reading over the "You Know You're A Band Geek When" site when I found...

545. You know how to insert the bocal of a bassoon into a trombone lead pipe to produce a "tromboon" (an instrument made infamous by PDQ Bach, sounding something like a badly pitched lawn mower).

HVUIDHUIFVGHQIQOHGWJGVO:t

I can't resist.

The minute I get my new bassoon I'm making a TROMBOON. And all shall be jealous.

(And now I have the picture of me carrying around both the bassoon AND the trombone cases. ... .... .... I should have thought this all through.)
